Our Lady of Grace – Mother’s Group
Vision:
To be a source of spiritual and emotional nourishment for mothers. We seek to bring all ladies closer to our Lord Jesus Christ, through His most Blessed Mother, Mary. To help wives and mothers transform their lives in Christ and strengthen them to fully live their vocation in their families by being a place they can: Learn the foundation of personal prayer Deepen their appreciation of the graces they receive from Christ in the Sacraments Grow in the knowledge of the teachings of Christ in Sacred Scripture and in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Mission
To provide an environment where mothers can grow in love for Jesus and embrace the fullness of Christian faith present in the Catholic Church so that they may radiate the life of Christ to their families and to the world. To foster a spirit of mentoring where wisdom, pertaining to family life, child rearing, homemaking, and other opportunities related to women, can be passed from generation to generation.
We seek to accomplish this mission with meetings on the 1st Saturday of each month, at 9:30am. The format of the meeting will generally consist of prayer, light snack, enrichment, and time so share ideas, ask each other questions, and general fellowship. The group will conclude no later than 11:30am.
Why we do What we do?
Our group is convinced that a Mother’s Group is one of the most important ministries we can cultivate at our Church. A foundation in Catholic Faith, life, and tradition starts with a newborn child in the home, and the child’s mother is generally his primary teacher. Parenting and mothering is the most important function and privilege we have in our lives. It is daunting if we try to do it on our own, but is manageable day by day with the grace of our Lord and the fellowship of other mothers.
As a wise wife and mother once said,
“Our vocation is the highest calling; to shape character, instill virtues and affect the world.”
Join us!
…for the St. Mary’s Mother’s Group. Our group will present informal discussion topics on the role of motherhood and faith formation for ourselves and our families, in a warm and supportive atmosphere. The second hour of format will consist of informal mother to mother support for issues on raising children of all ages. All mothers are welcome to attend. New, expectant, and nursing mothers are especially encouraged. We also need the advice and wisdom of you experienced Mothers (Titus 2 Women)
